Green Tea

20 Sep

OH god I remember the first time I tried green tea, I’m not even going to go into detail….let’s just say most of the day I was in the bathroom vomiting. I don’t know why this happened to me but I’m guessing because I wasn’t used to it or never tried something that tasted that disgusting! I forced myself to drink it each day until it was included as one of my daily routines, why you say…well I’m a health freak and as soon as I researched green tea up I found out so much benefits which is why I fell in love with it :D

I tried a lot of brands of green tea, some tasted just HORRIBLE while others were so much better in quality. So far my favourite is the Nerada Organics Green Tea, but don’t know if they sell it in Kuwait.

This is some of the benefits of green tea that I wanted to share with you guys and hopefully it will inspire you to start drinking green tea and making it a habit :D

Teacher shortage in Kuwait

20 Sep

According to Kuwaiti media, only 546 out of 1,006 Arab teachers have landed in Kuwait just a few days ahead of the new academic year. A contingent of 44 teachers from Tunisia has not yet arrived, due to political and governmental reasons in their country, while 79 teachers from Egypt, Jordan and Syria have rejected their offers at the last minute.

The Al Wasat daily said 128 of 198 Jordanians, 297 of 458 Syrians and 121 of 306 Egyptians had arrived.

Suing the Amir of Kuwait

20 Sep

Twenty-one Egyptian citizens have reported they were arrested and tortured in Kuwait last year after former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak called on the Kuwaiti government to crackdown on members of the Egyptian Association for Change at the time. The group is suing the Kuwaiti government for more than $380 million in damages.

The group said it had attempted to deal privately with the Kuwaiti government previously, but had been rebuked by officials. Thus, they took their case to court, suing the Emir, head of the Royal Council, the minister of interior and two police captains they charge with carrying out the torture.

One of the things that I didn’t understand about this case is that they claimed that they were forced to stand for four hours while beaten continuously. I actually thought that beating people was not tolerated in kuwait or in any other country and is forbidden. Allah Yester!
